Metro Credit Union Banking and the Coronavirus
Mar 13, 2020, 21:35 PM
Developments are moving very quickly with the coronavirus, including talk of business closures. We want to give members an update on where things are with Metro in terms of banking and the coronavirus, and things you can do to ensure easy
access to your money and banking services.

Banking Transactions will continue to Process
Given how rapidly things are changing, it is very possible some retail services could be disrupted. That could include drive-thru transaction services only at some offices, the complete closure of some offices, or ultimately, banking electronically
or by phone only. We will do everything in our power to minimize the disruption to services. Electronic banking transactions will continue to be processed even if in-person services are disrupted. You can ensure access to your
accounts by:
- Testing your Home/Mobile Banking Usernames and Passwords
- Testing your Credit and Debit Cards (make sure your PINs work at ATMs)
- Consider setting up Remote Deposit Capture to deposit checks
Longer Wait Times
We are sorry for longer than normal wait times on the phones and in the offices. Last week Metro adopted a strict “stay home if you’re sick” policy as a precaution against the virus. This has resulted in being short-staffed
in a number of places. In addition, many employees will be working from home. While that will help prevent spreading the coronavirus, it’s never as efficient as being at your desk.
Committed to Serving You
Metro is strong and safe, and we are committed to meeting your financial needs with as little disruption in services as possible. You can apply for loans via the phone or online, and in many cases, you can close your loan electronically from your
home or work. We will continue to communicate with you on a regular basis as we have updates in this unprecedented time. Please know, we are committed to doing whatever it takes to protect the safety and well-being of our staff, members and community.
Thank you for choosing to bank with Metro Credit Union. Stay safe.
