Members are asked to enter once per visit. Members may enter at multiple Metro branches during the same week. Entry slips must be legible and contain all required information to be eligible.

Mail-In Entry

Eligible members may also enter by U.S. mail. On a postcard or card no smaller than 3.5 inches by 5 inches, legibly handwrite the words "Metro Credit Union 5 Weeks of Giveaways Sweepstakes," along with your complete name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth, and the week number you wish to enter (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5).

No entries will be accepted via email, phone, or call center representative. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified.

5. Prizes

Twenty-five (25) total prizes will be awarded over the course of the Sweepstakes. Each weekly entry period features a different themed prize bundle. One (1) winner will be drawn at each of Metro's five (5) participating branches per weekly entry period, for a total of five (5) winners per week.

Approximate retail values per bundle range from $225 to $285. Bundle contents may be substituted with items of equal or greater value at Sponsor's discretion if any specific item becomes unavailable.

Participants are limited to winning one (1) prize across the duration of the Sweepstakes. If an entrant is drawn more than once, only the first win will be honored, and an alternate winner will be drawn for subsequent prizes.

The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received at each branch during each weekly entry period. Because the number of entries is unknown in advance, odds cannot be determined.

6. Drawings and Winner Selection

Drawings will be held on the following Monday mornings, prior to branch opening, at each participating branch:

  • Week 1 drawing: Tuesday, May 26, 2026
  • Week 2 drawing: Monday, June 1, 2026

  • Week 4 drawing: Monday, June 15, 2026
  • Week 5 drawing: Monday, June 22, 2026

Each branch will draw one (1) winner from its own raffle box. Mailed entries received by the Friday prior will be included in the main branch drawing for the corresponding week.

Winners will be notified by phone and, if necessary, by email. Winners have until Friday of the drawing week to respond and claim their prize. If a winner cannot be reached or does not respond by Friday of the drawing week, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from the remaining eligible entries for that week.

Prizes must be claimed in person at the winner's branch within thirty (30) days of notification. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash equivalent.

Metro Credit Union reserves the right to use an electronic method to randomly select winners at its sole discretion.

7. Taxes

Federal, state, and local taxes are the responsibility of the Sweepstakes winners. Metro Credit Union will report to the appropriate state and federal agencies as required by law. Entrants should consult their tax advisor regarding potential tax consequences.

Days of Service

In honor of National Volunteer Month, Metro employees spent time this April giving back at two local nonprofits. At Heart Ministry Center, our team helped shoppers navigate the pantry and loaded groceries through the Choice Food Distribution Program. At Heartland Hope Mission, employees sorted and organized clothing donations to help neighbors in need access essentials. Both mornings were meaningful reminders of the impact that comes from showing up for our community, and we're grateful to Heart Ministry Center and Heartland Hope Mission for the work they do every day.

A Message from Our CEO

A milestone worth recognizing.

This year marks Metro Credit Union’s 75th anniversary. That is a milestone worth recognizing.

A purpose that has not changed.

Metro was formed to meet a need. In 1951, a handful of individuals came together to create a credit union focused on providing value and treating people fairly. That purpose has not changed. While our size, tools, and services have evolved over time, our focus remains on serving members and delivering a strong member experience rooted in local decision making.

Built on loyalty and trust.

I have been a member for 38 of our 75 years, and during that time I have seen firsthand the loyalty our members show and the trust they place in us. Many members have been with Metro for decades, and that loyalty is a big reason we are here today. Celebrating 75 years is an opportunity to thank them and to recognize the relationships that have shaped who we are.

Looking ahead.

Throughout the year, we will recognize this anniversary in ways that reflect our appreciation for our members and our commitment to the communities we serve. While it is important to look back, it is just as important to look ahead. Our responsibility is to continue earning our members’ trust by staying focused on value, accountability, and the member experience.

Thank you for choosing Metro Credit Union and for being part of our story.

Mike McDermott

President and CEO

75 Years of Purpose. One Local Advantage.

How it started.

Seventy-five years ago, a small group of employees on the University of Nebraska College of Medicine campus, the institution that would later become the University of Nebraska Medical Center, saw a need and decided to act. In 1951, they formed an employee credit union to serve the broader campus community.

That same year, a group of Safeway grocery store employees also came together to form a credit union to serve grocery store employees and their families. In both cases, the goal was straightforward: to create a financial institution designed around people and to offer a more personal banking experience for coworkers and neighbors.

A shared future.

In 1982, those two credit unions combined to form what is known today as Metro Credit Union. While the structure and name evolved over time, the purpose behind the credit union did not. From the beginning, Metro has focused on trust, value, local decision making, and relationships built to last.

A member experience that evolves.

Metro was created to offer a different kind of banking experience. One designed around the member experience, where people feel comfortable asking questions, confident in their choices, and supported through both everyday needs and important life moments.

Over the past 75 years, the financial landscape has changed and so have the needs of our members. Our purpose has been to evolve alongside them. That experience is shaped through daily interactions and long-term relationships, guided by thoughtful decisions and a commitment to continually improving the member experience.

What Your Local Advantage® means.

It means banking with an organization rooted in the same communities as its members. It means keeping decisions close to home and reinvesting resources to improve the member experience over time. It is not about being the biggest or the flashiest. It is about being present, reliable, and accountable.

Why it matters.

Over the years, Metro has been part of many important moments in our members’ lives, including buying homes, financing vehicles, saving for the future, and navigating unexpected changes. Each of these moments represents trust, and trust is something we work to earn every day.

Looking forward together.

As we mark our 75th anniversary, our greatest appreciation goes to our members.

  • Thank you for choosing Metro Credit Union.
  • Thank you for trusting us with your financial journey.
  • Thank you for holding us to a high standard.

Looking ahead, Metro remains committed to delivering a banking experience shaped by local perspective, strong relationships, and continued progress in the member experience. While tools and technology will evolve, our focus will remain on creating an experience that feels approachable, dependable, and grounded in the community we share.

And while reflection matters, so does looking forward. Throughout our anniversary year, we look forward to celebrating with our members and sharing meaningful moments along the way as we say thank you for being part of Metro’s story.

Seventy-five years later, we remain focused on the same goal that started it all: being a credit union people trust, value, and choose.

  • I've been with Metro for 23 years, starting when I worked for Nebraska Med. They've always worked with me through everything. I'm set for life with my credit union.
    Robert M.
  • I've been a member for over 20 years, starting when I worked at Clarkson Hospital. We've always found Metro's rates to be among the best in the area. When my kids were young, they loved the member appreciation events. Now my son and daughter-in-law are members too.
    Rachel W.
  • I first joined Metro in 1978 and was approved to buy my first home. In 1990, when the chance came to buy my neighbor's house, I was able to sell mine and get a new loan through Metro. As a single mom working at a grocery store, I never dreamed I'd qualify for a home loan. I'm still a member today, and I'm so grateful they trusted me. Member for 48 years.
    Regina H.
  • I joined Metro in 1986 while working as a chaplain at Midlands Hospital in Papillon. At the time, our paychecks were deposited directly at Metro, which meant no more picking up checks late or driving them to another bank. It was a game changer. In the years since, I've gotten car loans, set up online banking, and gotten help with Visa cards, all without hassle or extra costs. I've moved all over the country in the past 40 years, but I've always stayed with Metro.
    NJ D.
  • I've had a great experience that's allowed me to establish credit with my first auto loan. Thank you Metro for giving me this opportunity.

    Katherine V.
  • I have had multiple loans with Metro Credit Union, and they have stood beside me throughout the six years that I have been banking with them
    Duane T.
